2018 RECAP

We had such an AMAZING 2018. We appreciate the partnership with the City of Meridian – Mayor Tammy and the West Ada School District. Our CKM Sponsors made the funding of grants possible for NINE schools in Idaho and several Idaho schools participated in our Community Kindness Week! Together we funded 5,032 Kindness Shirts.

We are happy to WELCOME SILVER SAGE ELEMENTARY! They will be funding their school with Kindness Shirts next week and will be celebrating a CKM Kindness Week.

We gathered many photos during our September CKW. Enjoy the fun slideshow! Thanks, for all that participated around our state. We weren’t able to gather pictures from ALL of the schools funded. Please send us pictures when you have some to share. Send to CommunityKindnessMovement@gmail.com

LETS CELEBRATE OUR TRUE COLORS

CLASSROOM DISCUSSION:

It is important for children to understand the beauty that comes from celebrating each others differences. As children read, discuss, practice, experiment, and focus on how they can be accepting and supportive of all people, they will in turn be more accepting and proud of their own differences and qualities that make them unique and beautiful.

Diversity is an always issue that needs to be cultivated, supported and reinforced. By recognizing
similarities and differences, we can become better students and stronger leaders. In order to strengthen
the sense of teamwork in the classroom, it is vital that students have an understanding of diversity and to
be able to communicate about it. In order to help students learn how to recognize and correct stereotypes,
to find common ground and to be able to work with and celebrate difference within the team, open
communication about diversity must be fostered.
